Course Conducted : M.Sc. in Physics ( 2 Yrs). The specialization is (a) Electronics and Instrumentation (b) Condensed Matter Physics, and (c) Specroscopy and Laser Physics.

Publications : Several Papers have been published by teachers and research scholars in reputed journals.

Thrust area of Research :

Several research fellows are actively engaged in research work under supervision of senior teachers like Dr. D. K. Sharma, Dr. R.P. Sinha, Dr. A.R. Yadav, Dr. A. Narayan and Dr. Sunita Singh. The areas of research being undertaken to include the oretical Nuclear Physics, Astrophysics, Expermental Solid State Physics. Laser Physics including Nanocrystalline studies. Dr. Dolly Sinha & Dr. S.P. Verma of M.M. College & Science College respectively also have research students working under them and collaborate with students in this department.

Research Programmes Project :

This Department has a ``Centre for Advanced Computation’’ that contains 16 personal computers including a server housed in one hall. It is equipped with the facilities including the Internet. Dr. (Mrs.) Purnima Srivastava has been placed as programmer. System analyst for the centre. We hope to increase the number of computers by 10 this year, after we receive the necessary grant from D.S.T. Government of India.

Other Activity :

Students of the department participated in annual sports of Science College. On 28th Feb ``Science Day’’ Function was also organised. Physical Society organises lectures on important topics throughout the year.
