The annual recuring
estimate for expenditure provided to the department by the university : (x) Plans for future Development in teaching and research : The
department has been one of the pioneers in field of mineralogical, petrological and geochemcial
research in the country. The
department aims to enter into new areas of research, using the Romote sensing methods. (xi) Future Plans : The department
has plans for qualitative improvement in postgraduate education by providing
better library, museum and laboratory facilities and more intensive field
training programmes.
The students at the postgraduate level woudl be encouraged to take small independent projects report
and desertation shall form the essential part of
postgraduate education in the coming years. The
M.Sc. syllabus has been thorougly
revised and update keeping in view the syllabus of the U.P.S.C., Civil Services and Geologists
examinations as well as that of the The
department also aims to provide wider, more modern and relevant base to its
postgraduate students by recruiting faculty and staff having specilization in structural geology, geohydrology,
marine geology, mathematical geology, engineering geology, remote sensing and
environmental geology, mathematical geology, engineering geology, remote
sensing and environmental geology. |
